What IS Second Chance?
Second Chance is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the homeless animals of the Dominican Republic.

¿Qué es Segunda Oportunidad?
Segunda Oportunidad es una organización dedicada a ayudar a los animales sin hogar de la República Dominicana de una forma gratuita.

What does Second Chance do?
Second Chance gives homeless animals another opportunity to have a good life. They're taken off the streets and attended to medically. They get treated, cleaned, and vaccined. Second Chance also takes in adult animals off the streets and neuteurs them, so that they do not continue reproducing and making animal overpopulation an even bigger problem.


¿Que hace Segunda Oportunidad?

Segunda Oportunidad le da a los cachorritos y gatitos sin hogar la oportunidad de tener una mejor vida. Son tomados de la calle y son atendidos. Son tratados, vacunados, y limpiados. Segunda Oportunidad también toma a los animales adultos de las calles y los castra, para que no continuen reproduciendose y haciendo que la sobrepoblación de animales se convierta en un mayor problema.

Camisas

Estamos introduciendo un nuevo projecto para Segunda Oportunidad - queremos vender camisas y botones para recaudar fondos. Aunque ya sabemos como y donde vamos a hacer los botones, necesitamos ayuda con las camisas.

Queremos que un patrocinador nos ayude con el precio de las camisas, para así poder recaudar más dinero para los animales y no usar la mayoría del dinero produciendo las camisas. Si alguien conoce a alguien quien supiera de un patrocinador, por favor mandenos un email: segunda.oportunidad@hotmail.com, o llamenos al 829 301 5939

Puppy up for adoption

At the moment, we have one puppy up for adoption. She is currently at Patricia Mendez's veterinary, but please contact us if you wish to adopt! We'll be adding a photo soon.

Goals for February

Sorry for the lack of activity we've had for a long while now, but we're restarting now, and we have some ideas to make SC as helpful as possible.

* We want to talk to 5+ vets and try and work out a deal that would maximize the amount of animals we can help monthly:
   - Ask each vet if they would sponsor 1-2 free animals a month
   - Ask each vet if they are willing to provide a low (or free) price for the cage time, and for the veterinary's work
   - List of basic prices

* Write up brochures containing information to hand out to anyone interested.

* Find out the cost of helping x amount of animals per month, and then inform people that x amount can be brought in for that month.

* Come up with a list of fundraising ideas to carry out throughout the year. If you have any ideas, let us know!

* Talk to students at TCFL about volunteering.
